Pisgat Zeev Day Center
The Pisgat Zeev day center is multicultural and provides services in Hebrew, Russian,
and Arabic to people diagnosed with dementia or Alzheimer’s. The center’s
experienced staff is trained in dementia and Alzheimer’s care, providing personal,
warm, and dedicated attention to each participant. The staff team comprises a social
worker, an occupational therapist, a nurse, group leaders, and therapists.
Melabev’s goal is that from the very first day, the participants and their families will
feel they are not alone in this journey. A social worker accompanies the families
through the process and, together with the Occupational Therapist, builds a personal
activity program best suited for the person’s needs.
The day center participants receive door-to-door round-trip transportation and
enjoy various activities. Participants receive two nutritious meals daily – breakfast
and lunch. Therapeutic activities (at least three a day) include physical exercise,
music, art and crafts, movement, therapeutic gardening, dance, singing, Snoezelen –
a multisensory stimulation room, mind-stimulating computer games, lectures on
current affairs, memory exercises, and more.
The activities at the day center aim to give the participants a positive and
encouraging experience according to their cognitive and physical abilities. The
services offered are in Hebrew, Russian, and Arabic.
