Join us on the Melabev Hike for Alzheimer’s Care 2026!

Thursday November 12, 2026

Each participant in the Melabev Hike for Alzheimer’s Care takes on a personal sponsorship goal and is committed to supporting people with dementia, usually older adults, but sometimes also younger adults.

Melabev, an Israeli non-profit founded more than 40 years ago, offers four day centers for people with dementia and provides a wide variety of services for seniors in the community. With these important and necessary programs, Melabev enhances the well-being and quality of life of people with dementia and their family caregivers. Donations from our supporters in Israel and worldwide ensure these high level services. A day in a Melabev Day Center includes safe transportation to and from the Center accompanied by a Melabev staff member, a nutritious breakfast and lunch, social interaction, as well as cognitive and physical activities. Melabev’s approach is focused on the well-being of the individual and provides our participants with a feeling of belonging and self-worth – in short: quality of life.

Please note: All donations to Melabev from sponsorship of our hikers go strictly to funding Melabev programs for our clients. Our volunteer hikers pay a registration fee that covers the hike expenses.

Hike Details

This year’s hike will take us into the Jerusalem Mountains! We will be hiking through the United States Forest on a number of different trails. We are offering three different options for participation:

  • A Full Day Hike with a More Challenging Route: We will hike along Nahal Dolev (Maple Tree Stream), including a visit to the ruins of Ithab and the springs in the area. In the afternoon we will join the Sunset Hike.
  • A Full Day Hike with a More Moderate Route: We will hike in the same area and visit sites such as the Soreq Caves and the Space Shuttle Challenger Memorial. In the afternoon we will join the Sunset Hike.

Exact meeting times and locations will be forthcoming.

Spread the Word! Join us and ask friends and family to come along! Help Melabev raise funds to address the critical needs of older adults with Alzheimer’s while enjoying a meaningful and fun day with like-minded people.
